Keeping Up With the Elementary Secondary Education Act (ESEA) & Early Learning

by Susan Gunnewig Posted on: May 13, 2010 at 3:57 PM

As you may have read, there is very little reference to early learning in the Obama Administration’s outline for ESEA reauthorization. This outline is being used to inform the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. Currently, there is mark-up activity to draft this legislation. In a recent USA editorial piece, the argument was made for the inclusion of early childhood since learning begins at birth.

Early Ed Watch, a blog from New America’s Early Education Initiative under the direction of Lisa Guernsey, now have a new page on their website dedicated to ESEA reauthorization and Early Learning. The objective is to make “it easier to find all of the pieces in one location.” Please visit earlyed.newamerica.net/blogposts/2010/our_new_page_dedicated_to_esea_and_early_learning-31641 often. Keep informed and spread the word.
