Dear Customers,

Hatch® is committed to ensuring that all our materials and supplies meet Consumer Product Safety Information Act (CPSIA) guidelines. With new safety laws going into effect and growing concern about the safety of children's products, we have committed to a rigorous product adoption process to ensure our products are safe.

Hatch has always been diligent when it comes to safety. Not only are we in full compliance with all of the current U.S. safety regulations, but every item we sell must meet or exceed all of the government safety requirements.

At Hatch, the safety evaluation starts when a product is reviewed or put into development. We ensure that all of the materials are phthalate-compliant and must pass strenuous standards for lead content. We require vendors to document that they have used an approved outside testing laboratory to conduct testing to document that every product Hatch sells meets or exceeds current safety regulations. We continuously monitor the safety of our products through periodic vendor compliance reviews to ensure that our suppliers maintain the high level of integrity that we demand of our materials.

At Hatch, child safety is always our top priority. You can feel confident that the products we sell are safe and that we are doing everything we can do to provide our customers with superior-quality products they can trust.

HATCH® Statement Regarding SafetyCraft Crib Recall

On January 28, 2011, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall for cribs with the name SafetyCraft, manufactured by Generation 2 Worldwide. These are not the same SafetyCraft® cribs that have been and continue to be manufactured by Foundations® and sold by HATCH®.

Background

Generation 2 Worldwide produced cribs under the brand name SafetyCraft until going out of business in 2005. In 2005, Foundations purchased the SafetyCraft trademark, but did not begin to manufacture cribs under the SafetyCraft name until 2008.

Foundations SafetyCraft cribs were first introduced to the HATCH product line in the Spring 2009 Infant/Toddler catalog. The SafetyCraft cribs sold by HATCH from 2009 to present day are not included in the recall.

More information is available on the Foundations website.

How do you know who manufactured your SafetyCraft crib?

Refer to the model number on your crib. The official CPSC recall includes instructions regarding location of model numbers, as well as photos of the recalled cribs.

The model number of the Foundations SafetyCraft crib sold by HATCH is 01-CC-N3. To find Foundations crib model numbers, customers should lift the crib mattress and look inside the crib on the floorboard. There is a permanently affixed rectangular block that reads “Manufactured by Foundations Worldwide,” along with a model number and date of manufacture.

If you have a recalled crib what should you do?

If you do own a SafetyCraft crib included in the January 28 recall, please follow the instructions issued by the CPSC.
