Classroom Integration

The successful integration of technology in an early childhood classroom requires proper installation, set-up and staff training. A Hatch representative will install the system, advise teachers on technology implementation, and provide interactive staff workshops to ensure that the computer becomes an active, child-directed area in the classroom.

Kid-Safe Desktop

iStartSmart computers are configured with ECLaunch™, a computer desktop management system that is Internet safe and easy to navigate for early learners. This child-directed computer desktop protects curious children from accessing Windows and other operating system files, while making it easy for teachers to still use the computer for administration any time they please.

Launch Pads into Learning

ECLaunch comes pre-loaded with various "Launch Pads" into learning, allowing children to independently access educational iStartSmart Shell Squad games, and educator-approved Web sites, eBooks, additional educational content and more. The software that comes preloaded on the computer is customized according to the age group and needs of your classrooms.

Customize Areas of Play

Beyond creating a kid-safe desktop, ECLaunch allows teachers to customize each Launch Pad to add Web links and games to their systems quickly and easily. Teachers can even set usage time limits and turn areas of the computer on and off depending on the day’s agenda and what they feel each child should be focusing on while at the Computer Learning Center. Password protected Launch Pads can be created as needed to support classroom activities and transform the system to meet teacher-guided learning goals.
