Hatch® to Participate in Panel Discussion with National Education Leaders about Technology in Early Learning at NAEYC Professional Development Conference

Hatch Inc., a leading provider of classroom technology innovations for early learning, announced today that Susan Gunnewig, Product Development Director will represent the new Hatch Research Division in a panel discussion entitled “Building a Blueprint for Learning Through Technology.” The interactive discussion will take place on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. ET in conjunction with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) National Institute for Early Childhood Professional Development Conference at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI.

The discussion will focus on policy, practice and implementation of educational technology in early learning. Joining Gunnewig on the panel will be Karen Cator, Director of the U.S. Department of Education Office of Educational Technology; Lisa Guernsey, Director of the Early Education Initiative at New America Foundation and Editor of the Early Ed Watch blog; and Warren Buckleitner, Ph.D., Editor of Children's Technology Review.

“I am honored and excited to have these leading national experts join me in a panel discussion regarding how technology will continue to influence the early childhood classroom landscape,” said Susan Gunnewig, Hatch Product Development Director. “Hatch is proud to be the host of this very relevant discussion.”

Gunnewig will discuss the appropriate use of cutting-edge instructional technology in early learning classrooms and how it impacts young children. Participants will also learn about the U.S. Department of Education’s National Education Technology Plan – “Transforming American Education: Learning Powered by Technology” (PDF) and the upcoming revisions to NAEYC’s Technology Position Statement.
