Hatch Appoints Renowned Expert in Early Childhood

Winston-Salem, NC - Hatch®the leader in providing technology to early childhood classrooms nationwide, has expanded its executive team with the addition of Susan Gunnewig as the Director of Product Development, a renowned expert in the field of early childhood.

In her new role as Director of Product Development, Susan Gunnewig will be researching and developing appropriate products for the early childhood industry to better support teachers and develop young children.

"Research is influencing the early childhood field more than ever. Hatch's commitment to apply this research to ensure high quality product development plus continued excellent customer service attracted me to this company", said Mrs. Gunnewig, Director of Product Development. "Early childhood teachers, parents, administrators, and most of all the children deserve the very best. We will work daily to make this goal happen."

A valued member of the early childhood industry, Susan brings 40 years of experience to Hatch. Most recently, Susan was Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical School, where she successfully oversaw a number of National Institute of Health, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, and Department of Education research grants which informed the field of best practices in early childhood specifically 3 and 4 year olds in child care, Head Start, public and charter schools.

Susan was a coauthor of the CIRCLE and Head Start STEP training as well as co-creator of the Texas Early Education Model (TEEM). She has presented at approximately 100 conferences and conventions across the United States and has coauthored many early childhood research articles.

Prior to joining University of Texas, Susan was a classroom teacher for 28 years and a senior administrator in Houston Independent School District. "We are excited to have Susan as a member of our senior management team as her leadership," said Hatch President Ginny Norton. "Expertise in the field of early childhood will help support Hatch’s continued mission of providing exceptional and innovative products to support the education of young children."
